    EvAccess Android app now available

I just downloaded. Works great and more info that the MB app! Much easier to use with all the charging data on one screen. I have an Android for work so I was able to use this phone to set up. I am more of an Apple person so any chance there is an iPhone app coming??

    Lease Value / MF

Money Factors seem not to be used in NJ so much but I can calculate. My "rent" or interest part of my lease is $460. This is on an average outstanding capital cost of $27,882. (Capital cost + residual)/2. So the interest is 0.054% or a MF of 0.00000229. Almost zero! Obviously your...

    Leasing

Yes. Total out of pocket $11,832. This is less than 24% of MSRP on a lease with $15K miles. Good deals are running about 24% of MSRP total out of pocket on 10K mile leases. You are below this so this is a good deal. It appears they are getting even more aggressive with the 2014's.

    Deciding between 14/15 Lease

We should quote total drive off costs including the first months payment. The dealers will play with the different buckets to suit their needs. Also, I find in easiest to just compare total cost for 3 years. Good deals are running 24-25% of the MSRP on a 2014 with a 10K mile lease. $48K...

S vs E+ mode efficiency difference

I also had a Focus Electric and never had any brake dust on the wheels. With my B-Class I have noticed a small amount of brake dust as well. I am pretty good at maximizing the regen to stop the car, so I don't think it is the driving style in my case. My guess is the MB seems to leave the...

Extended Range 2014 B Class - Does all models have it

It is optional for 2014. Standard for 2015. If it does not have it there is no easy way to turn it on. Likely there are other hardware changes besides the button, (maybe a different wiring harness) associated with this option as it includes a electrically heated windshield as well.

    Driving range after charge

Congratulations as well. Good to really understand the technical stuff. If you do it will give you a lot of confidence to use the car to its full potential. -The general consensus is to ignore the mileage meter or the GOM (Guess o Meter) as it affectionally called. It will not give you...

    Temperature effect on range

My guess is it will continue to improve to about 90 degrees then level off or decline. It would be interesting to see your % battery used and miles traveled, so we can calculate a real mpKwh. Is the reading just taken from the dashboard readout which is understood to read low? 4.5 mpKwh is...

    Range Challenge

jwarcd: Calculating the standard range each way I get: Trip down (99-13)/0.74 = 116 miles Return (103-6)/0.83 = 117 miles I backed out the miles you indicated were on the range extender. Pretty impressive for highway driving with AC in one way.

    Range Challenge

Wow this is impressive, 120 miles of range. The leader. Although I am sure it will be beat in time...

Range Meter After Full Charge - What Should It Read

You should look at the % charge meter not the range meter. The range meter will vary base on you previous driving efficiency (miles per Kwh) and will vary quite a bit. In the B-Class it will generally read much lower than the actual range you have. The dealer may have reset the gauges...

    dealers on the east coast

A few ways to find cars. -Use the advanced search on auto trader. Not all the dealers list here but there were 132 new cars within 200 miles of my zip code. -The dealer websites. I checked a few dealers where I knew there were cars and they still there. Time consuming. -The MBUSA...

    Temperature effect on range

Below is right from the MB Daimler website. I put the link below as well. "The thermal management system of the B-Class Electric Drive encompasses on the one hand the air conditioning for the vehicle interior and on the other hand the cooling of the electric drive. This ensures that all...

    Temperature effect on range

At some point, at high temperatures, energy will also be used to cool the battery and the efficiency will begin to degrade whether you use the AC or not. Not sure exactly what temperature this is but I would guess around 90 deg F based on other EV's and what I have read. Keep plotting so we...

Is Leasing that great of a deal?

I agree with AznFamily and will just put emphasis on a few key points. -The advancing battery technology and declining prices on BEV's. In a few years there will likely be 3-4 cars out there with 200 mile range at prices in the same range as the MB or they will be a lot cheaper. This will...

    Range Challenge

Pretty good, and thanks for documenting. With some others getting close to 4.0 mpKwh on the read out I am convinced it will do 120 miles on a standard charge in ideal conditions. I may have a chance to try this weekend. The key is lower speed roads with limited stop and go. Limited wind...

    Temperature effect on range

Assume this is from the readout on the dash. Reality is 1.1 - 1.2 times above this so prettying impressive for warm weather. If you take the 50 degree point of about 3.1 mpKwh. The car itself is achieving about 3.5 -3.7 mpKwh, as the readout is low and possibly adjusting for the losses...

    Warning Message in Dashboard

I had the same. Reset from the steering wheel while driving. Never came back. Did not seem to effect function as I was using the +/- paddles etc. My car still has the E+ mode so it was not updated on delivery. I wonder some time if I accidentally hit the "park" button while using the...

2015 b class deal in Bayarea

I have read through the A & B service routines and the only "real" service is to change desiccant cartridges for the HV battery. If I can figure out how to do it and it is relatively simple I will post it here. The rest of the stuff are just minor checks that you would see in the day to day...

Ever seen a BCED on the road other than your own?

Funny story. I would say does not count. This is why we don't see them on the road. They are all at the dealers. In the east coast I am convinced the dealers have more inventory than they have sold! The dealer I bought from had 8, mine was the second sold. Another dealer had 13, sold 1...
