Now that we are getting into nice weather (for some of us) it is a good time to have a range challenge for the person that can go the longest distance on one charge in the B-class.

General Rules:

-The trip should be round trip back to the same starting point. (This avoids elevation changes which can change results.)
-Theoretical calculated range is ok as long as you have used 75% of the battery. (1/percent battery used) X actual miles. This avoids the stop on the road dead by someone trying get the last mile out of the battery.
-Obviously no charging in between.
-No Range Extender use. Some do not have this option and the battery % is not displayed correctly to make the calculation.

Post the following:

Starting battery %
Ending battery %
Total battery % used
Actual Miles traveled
Theoretical Range

Look forward to seeing the results!

Stretch,

Nice challenge. However, the sound you hear is a chicken clucking. If I work up the nerve, will post my results. I do expect to have improved range (going to 67 this week) but my routes are pretty much established as well as my charging habits.

Just tried measuring the result with my daily commute...
No Range Extension Used
Southern California Traffic - 74F (morning) to 95% (afternoon) temperature.
Starting battery %: 100%
Ending battery %: 26%
Total battery % used: 74%
Actual Miles traveled: 73 miles
Theoretical Range: 99 miles with remaining battery or 87 miles with GOM
GOM said I have 14 miles left but I think I could do a little more with the battery charge available...
Performance 3.3 on the dash...
Average travel speed was 21 miles/hour and drive time was somewhere around 3.5 hours with dash showing 99% acceleration, 60% on cruise.
AC on @ 72F and music on and phone charged with a load in my trunk (not sure if that makes any difference since I'm heavier - haha).

:) Hopefully it'll do better after I get better at it over the period.

Pretty good, and thanks for documenting.

With some others getting close to 4.0 mpKwh on the read out I am convinced it will do 120 miles on a standard charge in ideal conditions.

I may have a chance to try this weekend. The key is lower speed roads with limited stop and go. Limited wind resistance without using regeneration constantly.

My results. I also added info which is I believe relevant; drive mode and E/S mode.
D/E+
Start Charge-100%
End Charge-25%
Charge Used-75%
Round Trip-90 miles
Pro Rated Estimate-120miles Range/Adjusting Range Knowing You Can't Drive To 0%-115miles
Outside Temp-62-75°
AC On-Return Trip (ac on is showing for me no effect on range.)
Note: The E+ mode cannot be duplicated by E mode with D-. For me its my most economical mode. Won't let them do an upgrade until they can assure me it won't be deleted. Couldn't be any happier with the range. Doing about 3.6 during the trial ,3.0 average since I got the car about 2000miles ago, best ever 4.1 for about a 15min span, worst 1.9 on a cold NY winters day.No Range Extender on my 2014. Radio on the whole time.

Here is my results from a 200 mi trip I did on Sunday from Massachusetts to Connecticut. Approx 85% highway. I drove very conservatively (55 - 60 mph) on trip down since I wasn't sure I could make the 100 mile trip. On the way back drove slightly faster, 60-65 mph. Overall, I was impressed that the car could easily make the 100 mile trip even on a 90° day with AC.

Trip Down:
D+/E+
Start Charge-100% (Range Extension Used, drove 13 miles before it dropped to 99%)
End Charge-26%
Charge Used-74%
3.4 mpkWh (as shown on dash)
48 mph average
Trip-99 miles
Outside Temp-76-78°
No AC used
10-12 mph headwind

Start altitude: 100 feet
End altitude: 269 feet
Maximum altitude: 1008 feet
Minimum altitude: 54 feet
Distance: 102.8 miles
Total ascent: 6144 feet
Total descent: 5975 feet

Charged about 4+ hours at brothers house.

Trip Back:

D+/E+
Start Charge-100% (Only partial Range Extension Used, I stopped charging before full range extension finished, drove 6 miles before it dropped to 99%)
End Charge-17%
Charge Used-83%
3.5 mpkWh (show on dash)
46 mph average
Trip-103 miles
Outside Temp-89-92°
AC set to 77°
10-12 mph tailwind

Calculating the standard range each way I get:

Trip down

(99-13)/0.74 = 116 miles

Return

(103-6)/0.83 = 117 miles

I backed out the miles you indicated were on the range extender. Pretty impressive for highway driving with AC in one way.

I thought it was pretty impressive as well... and I forgot to mention in my post that there was also a good amount of up and down elevation changes. I updated my post with the elevation data.

Hey all -- just use the AC. It doesn't hurt range at all. Seriously. This is a great car in 50-100 degree Farenheit weather. Too bad it doesn't have the extra 35% range of the RAV 4 EV. That would be amazing.

Don't want to go off topic but just have to say its the coldest driest best ac in any vehicle I've ever had. Is that an Mb trait, no hot ice engine a battery instead, those direct louvers. Just terrific today in an 85° NY day.
