My B-Class won't start

I recently replaced the 12V battery in my B-Class, but now it won't start. The dashboard displays 'Visit Shop' and 'Shut Off Engine' messages. Has anyone else had this problem, and what should I do?

The battery died since this is a used B-Class and hasn't been started for 3 years.

You can check the voltage of the 12 volt battery by plugging a USB cigarette lighter port with voltage reading . With the ignition switch on it should read at at least 13.8 vdc . With the green " ready " message on dashboard . The voltage should be at least 14..8 volt. Otherwise the high voltage dc to 12volt dc converter is faulty and/or the battery is faulty.

Remember when you replace the 12 volt battery. You need to tell the system that you have replaced the battery. You can do this with some obd2 diagnostic/ programmable tool . Otherwise the system may overcharge/ undercharge the new battery and it not last long

When you replace the 12 volt battery . You need to tell the cpu that you have replaced. You need use a diagnostic db2 scanner/ tool and tel the system of the new battery information like capacity, cca etc . You can't just replace the 12 v battery and forget it like the old school way.

Would a ELM327 be sufficient for that? Any hint for a software/app, that works with W242 series?

Are you following the advice from LondonWdd14289ownwr?
If you have it "ready" and 14.8 V at the USB voltage display (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=usb+adap...daptor+voltage+display,aps,157&ref=nb_sb_noss), but it won't drive then it is advised to check the Speed sensor to see how bad the coolant invading the motor and destroyed it.
