key fob battery

One of my key seems to drain battery quite quickly...
in the 1.5 months since i had the car, i had to swap out 2 batteries already...
It's just a spare hanging there doing nothing...not sure why that would be...anyone have any ideas?

DYY, bad luck it seems. Bring to parts counter of dealer next time you are around. My experience is if you chat them up, they know what to do.

BTW, if you are indeed keeping both keys together, perhaps safer to separate them. There is no utility in keeping them both on the same ring.
