Have you changed the battery desiccant filters yourself?
Is those only available as expensive OEM?
I've spent a couple of hours with Google and haven't found anything else.

I saw a video on the SmartEV where someone changed theirs.

You have to remove the battery protective panel unde the rear to access the filters, one on either side. Then you can remove them, stick them in the microwave and re-install them.

Is those only available as expensive OEM?

If your car is still under the battery warranty, there should be zero cost for you to have the dealer replace them.
