2014 B class. 1500 miles. Left it for overnight charging (more than 14 hours) on 110v with more than 55% residual charge. Next morning range indicator showed the same as when it was plugged in. Happened a second time today. On both occasions, as well as many other times, display showed "malfunction, service required." Dealer found no problem as vehicle would take up charge on unplugging and replugging but this means the vehicle cannot be used that day.

Anyone with this issue????

I tried the provided charger to get a few more kWh into mine for a couple of hours. This was after the garage guy plugged in their charger and forgot to start it! It pays to use the app or visually check to see if it is actually doing anything. That is how I check to see if the garage guys indeed are charging my car. In my case, with the provided charger all I saw was the green lights going left to right so it looked good. On the car's dash, I managed to get a couple of kWh in over a couple of hours, real slow at 110v.

Problem is NOT 'slow charging' but 'NO charging'.

110v home charger.
Plugged in @ 1.30 PM on day 1 with 35 miles residual on range meter.
Day 2 morning @ 8.30 AM: all 4 LED lights on charger on and not blinking, but range meter shows 29 miles with about 30% battery charge. Instrument panels displayed 'MALFUNCTION'.
Subsequent attempts to charge at service center as well as home unremarkable (works as expected).
Happened twice in last 30 days.

I have had this happen a few times myself. I usually wait by the car to hear the charger in the vehicle click on to make sure that it has successfully negotiated with the charger. I have discussed with the dealership and MB tech support. The consensus is that periodically there may be a random communications error during the initial negotiation process (two of the contacts in the charge connector are for serial data communication). Usually, the second attempt at plugging in clears the error. At least in my case there are no error codes set in the vehicle that show up when the service department scans it. As someone else suggested checking the app to verify is a good idea and I normally do it after 15 minutes or so. My experience is if it is charging after 10-15 minutes then it will continue to charge.

I've had the problem once. My outlet tripped from the previous charge. Noticed however the lights blinking red and the malfunction notification on the dashboard info system. Clicked the red reset button on the outlet plugged back in recharged perfectly.
