Hi, I was home charging overnight and the house took an electrical brown out and it stopped charging. Everything is fine, except I'm getting a visit shop error on my dash. How can I reset this money maker error code for Mercedes?
Thank, Victor

This happened to me after charging during a thunderstorm, but there turned out to be a bad coolant pump. So it may just be coincidence.

I have not found an OBD2 scanner than can successfully connect to this car, so you may be stuck with a trip to the dealer.

Is the connector the problem? Or, does the B250e not work with the scanner firmware?

Peter,

I believe the pins on the OBD2 connector that are of interest are correct. There are two pins for 12V and two for the CANBUS. These seem to be in the standard OBD2 locations on our B-Class.

But inside the car there are multiple CANBUS's, so what information Mercedes decided to share on this particular bus is unknown. At least that's my take on it.

I wish I understood more about this kind of thing.

Thanks for the update. I'm only vaguely familiar with diagnostic tools/connectors, so I headed over to Wikipedia Looks like the intent was to help manage emission systems on ICE vehicles. Didn't see any M-B specific data, for ICE or EV. Agree this tool accesses the CANBUS, but we'll need help from M-B to decode, as you said.

Doesn't look like a dedicated Service Manual (aka Shop Manual) is available for the B250e. Would be nice to take a virtual tour "Under the hood".

Peter,

For $20 or so you can get multiple DVDs loaded with the manuals for all M-B vehicles. Loads up in a virtual computer on your Windows machine. This is apparently what M-B mechanics have to master. Very complex to navigate, but I think all the information you could ever want is there. Also includes the electric Smart car to boot.

There are multiple sources for this, with either a huge download option or actual DVD's. I recommend the one with actual DVD's. I think I got mine off eBay.

Thanks for the pointer, found it on eBay (item number: 261923286523) for $15.99
Free Shipping (but had to pay California sales tax of $.148)
