I'm new to this forum and was searching through it for adapters to allow charging from a Tesla HPWC when I came across this thread.
I'm trying to find just such an adapter and have run across photos of someone using it on a Mercedes B class in the Tesla Forum: http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/show...Adapter-to-J-Plug-(on-a-Mercedes-B-Class-EV!)
Does anyone know where to find this? A link would be helpful.
I bought my B class from a Tesla engineer and he says he's seen Tesla employees who have created their own for their non Tesla EVs. So even though some Tesla owners take umbrage at other EVs attempting to use HPCWs, it is obvious that promoting wide scale EV usage is the mission at Tesla.
Searching through the Amazon link in the previous post, I did not find an adapter that can do this.
Thanks in advance.
The short answer is no. The long answer is IF you own your B-Class ED and want to modify it to accept CHAdeMo you can do a conversion that www.quickchargepower offers. It's called JdeMo -- it actually may not be available yet -- THEN you can use a CHAdeMO adapter for Tesla... My $0.02 is just lease your B-Class and get a new one in a couple of years with Fast Charging built in.
I'm relatively new to my B (which I truly love!) and I have been wondering whether it's possible to charge my car from a Tesla charging unit. What I found from Quick Charge Power (quickchargepower.com) is a "JDadpter Stub" for $399. Here's the link to the item: http://shop.quickchargepower.com/JDapter-Stub-Tesla-Charge-Station-Adaptor-JDPTRSTB.htm;jsessionid=7C48A1136D881501096DDEEE5BBA04A4.p3plqscsfapp001.
Does anyone know in what circumstance(s) having this adapter would be useful? There are many Tesla charging stations in my area; hence my keen interest in understanding the benefits and/or limitations of this device.
