2017 b250e OBD Carplay Activation

Hi all,

I've been looking for days on end but found nothing in terms of videos or written instructions that say an OBD Carplay activator will work with my b250e. It is a 2017 model which when I check on the OBD dongles, it includes 2015+ manufactured b-class cars. So am I to assume it should just work?

I am quite confused with what version NTG5 I have. I've searched my VIN and it gives me a 522 - AUDIO 20 RADIO NAVIGATION CAPABLE NTG5

But other forums are saying there's 5.1 and 5.2 and there's NTG5s1 as well.

Would someone be kind enough to clarify? My guess is NTG5s1 is the "series 1?" and the .1, .2 are updates to the firmware?

Here is what I found searching this forum for carplay. It is an old article but perhaps helpful. Seems like you will need the dealer's help to upgrade the COMAND firmware.
