    Range Challenge

Now that we are getting into nice weather (for some of us) it is a good time to have a range challenge for the person that can go the longest distance on one charge in the B-class. General Rules: -The trip should be round trip back to the same starting point. (This avoids elevation changes...

    Tesla CPO for used 60kWh

I looked at this option prior to getting my B-class and did not go forward with it for the following reasons: -There are no leases on these cars. -The monthly payments are still in the $700-800 range. -There is no federal tax credit on used cars. If you subtract $7500 from $75,000 (a new 70...

Ever seen a BCED on the road other than your own?

No, have never seen another. - New Jersey. I used to have a Focus Electric which sells about the same rate. I saw 4-5 of them in the 2 years I had mine. Actually there was one 2 blocks away in my neighborhood. Not only is there no other B-Class on the roads the styling is so generic MB...

    10,000 Mile Service

I just got the car. I plan to do the maintenance myself, but likely about a year away for the 1st. I will do everything and check off in the book as required. Keep the receipts for anything purchased. I have read through the maintenance schedule and the only thing I am not sure about is...

Facelifted 2015 B-Class Electric Drive photos

I was able to do this on my 2014. I had no idea it worked like this. I like it in the higher position. I put the charging bag under and will have room to put small package under the tray when needed. Really cool!! Thanks for the information.

    Test drove today...

I noticed the sluggishness you describe as well when I test drove and when I purchased mine. You will notice this on almost all the German cars, even the ICE ones. The approach they take with the accelerator is that is must be completely linear. 25% accelerator is 25% of the power from the...

    Buying in California

What is the MSRP of the car you are interested? Some are getting close to 20% off of the MSRP plus the Federal tax Credit of $7500 but this has been on lease deals mainly. There are many lease incentives for the dealers. Not sure on purchase incentives. I don't think the Trucar data...

    Range 'o'meter

I ran my first range test with the MB Today.. This is a country road trip we take sometimes to a nice town on the river for lunch. I knew from experience with my Focus Electric that I would get pretty good results. My Focus Electric would do this route and get 225 Wh/Mile (4.4 Mi/Kwh)...

    Leasing

The finance guy told me the confusion was on combining a $5k and $7.5K incentive. I asked if he meant the $7.5K federal tax credit, he said no. There was a $7.5K and $5K incentive from MB. He also stated he needed to make sure they still made money on the deal and told me they did if they...

    Leasing

I finally did a deal last night. Pretty much fully loaded car. I required the range package and there is not that many out there. 2014 White w/Black Interior. Premium Package, Range Package, Multimedia Package, Blind Spot Warning. 3 year/ 10K miles per year. MSRP...

    Leasing

I am in the final stages of a negotiation on a lease on a 2014 on the east coast. Very good deal will post here soon when I have closed the deal. One bit of news for anyone on the West Coast. I appears MB has moved a large amount of 2014 stock from the east cost to the west coast. The...

What to expect/demand in terms of full service

The reason I lease electric cars is to stay as far away from the dealership as possible once it is in my hands. There should be minimal maintenance. Rotate the tires, keep an eye on the wiper blades and cabin filter etc. You guys sound like you needed a friend rather than a car.

Well, I tested the Range today...Driving 72 miles each way

What was the MpKwh on this trip? Also, what does the small gauge on the right cluster, inset in the power meter show? I asked the sales guy and he said it is the battery charge. This make no sense as that is in the left side of the cluster inset into the speedometer.

Am I being charged ($) if I don't unplug the charger?

Once the car is charged the power draw stops, so you are not paying for electricity. You can leave it plugged in which is generally recommended. There maybe a small amount of draw occasionally after charging to keep the battery warm or cool depending on the temperature. This is very minor...

Warm Weather Range and Regen Behavior

I want to know the real world range people are seeing on the B-Class as the EPA rated range and efficiency seems out of wack to me. I took the EPA city MPGe rating and compared them on the chart below to the curb weight for several EV's. You should expect a relatively linear relationship...

Warm Weather Range and Regen Behavior

Was this using the range extender? Are you saying the total range was 138miles (103+35)!!!

Warm Weather Range and Regen Behavior

Phototrek, -Yes the car had the radar and the paddles. I am pretty sure it was in Auto D, so this likely explains the behavior. -Since you also have a Focus and the B Class what is the difference in range you see between the 2? A least your environment and driving style is consistent...

Leasing in the NY Metro Area

Took my first test drive today and may consider a lease on the MB B Class. What have others been getting on leases on the B-Class in the NY metro area? There seems to be plenty of inventory of 2014's (8-12 at many dealerships). The starting point seems to be about $299 plus about $4K down...

Warm Weather Range and Regen Behavior

I took my first test drive today in the B class. May take the plunge. I would like to get a feel for the range people are seeing now that the weather is a little warmer. I am just surprised that the B-Class appears to be so much less efficient that the other EV's on the market. I just...
