    Inconsistent ReGen/Battery behavior

I have noticed the lack of regeneration when the battery is cold. It occurs sometimes even though the eCell is at 100%. There is some regen just not as much as normal. If the gauge is off of 100% due to a cold battery I get pretty much zero regen even on D-. My eGolf does the same thing...

    Real world range test

I agree with the range hit on cold weather short range driving but it is not as bad on longer trips once the battery is warmed up. Did a trip today: Start temp 42 Degrees End Temp 48 Degrees Extended Charge before leaving. 86 Miles Round Trip End Battery State 21% I was a little worried we...

    Best EVSE 240V charger

I have not taken it with me but I could. It would just unplug and the electronics box slides out of its holder. It is a little bulky (mostly cable) but if you know there will be a NEMA 14-50 plug at your destination you could use it. There are also adaptors to other plug types.

Long trip tomorrow, and charging time estimates question

Yes this is pretty normal if you are charging on 110v. Nothing odd (longer charging per Kwh) will happen just because you ran the battery down to a low percentage. 110v adds about a KWH in 1 hour. So it can take more than a full 24 hours to charge the battery. The normal battery capacity is...

Long trip tomorrow, and charging time estimates question

Interesting trip. Yeah the broken down or blocked chargers are a bummer. I always try to have a plan B just in case. I drove 71 miles each way recently to near Allentown PA. I was able to charge where I planned but I also knew there was a few chargers 3-4 miles away at car dealers if my...

Annual Battery Certification No Charge- Mercedes Nanuet, NY

Thanks. Mine is coming in April and plan to do the same thing. Recall and battery certification only. Your post will help as I am sure I will get the run around.

    Best EVSE 240V charger

I did a lot of research when I bought my EVSE I think the best option for the MB is the Juicebox 40 amp version. A few key points: -The juice box allows time charging (wireless version). I charge in the early morning hours and get a rate of about 9 cents a Kwh versus 19 cents normally...

    MB electric website

Thank you so much for your app. It is unbelievable to me that a lone developer can do a so much better job than MB. I'm all iphone now, but I kept an old android running on wifi just so I can see the status of my car later in the evening to see if I need to charge for the next day. I try...

    Charge socket flap won't open

Did you check to be sure the doors are unlocked? The charger door locks when you lock the doors. I did not notice on my car for quite some time as I do not lock the car in our garage where I charge. My wife locked the doors and I could not open the charger door. Unlocking the doors did the...

    MB electric website

Jeff, I have the same issue. You can e-mail this address. [email protected] So far I just got a canned response on how to re-set the password. If enough of us e-mail maybe they will realize there is an issue. These APP issues are laughable when you consider when you think about MB...

Winter is around the corner; performance differences

Ok but this one has a 2700W output. If I remember correctly, level 1 on the highest amperage is 1500W. Anyway, I agree not a good idea. Too heavy and expensive to be practical for such a small charge.

Winter is around the corner; performance differences

I will try the departure time and see if it keeps the battery warm. Jeff, I don't know how you do it without plugging in at home. This is one of the first questions I ask of anyone considering an electric car. Have you thought about a monthly garage rental that has some 120V plugs? My...

Winter is around the corner; performance differences

Yes have noticed the drop off in efficiency with the cold weather. Probably one of the most annoying things is the regenerative braking does not regen so much when the battery is cold. This is kind of a double hit. Less efficient accelerating and less regained during braking. If the MB...

Why 36kwh batteries, but only 28kwh or 31kwh usable

The second gauge shows if the power output is being limited for any reason. Two cases I know this would occur: -The battery is cold or hot. I think this mainly occurs on startup in cold weather. -The charge is very low. (Per Jeff's comment the power starts limiting as you approach no charge.)

EPA range, + comparison of bclass and 30 kWh Leaf

The EPA does not supply results for any of the parameters (range, consumption or eMPG). This is left to the manufacture to test based on the EPA protocols. The results are supplied by the manufactures to the EPA. MB obviously has chosen to be very conservative with the ratings. The EPA...

EPA range, + comparison of bclass and 30 kWh Leaf

Yes the 2016 B250e appears to be the same car as all the ratings are same and there is no known new MB electric short term. The range on the MB electric is very under rated. Both the EPA ratings and what you will see from the GOM (Guess o Meter) in the car. In mild weather you can...

Anyone have instructions for changing the Cabin Air Filter?/

so now that this information is out there.... Has anyone had just the "Annual Battery Certification Service" done at no charge from their dealer? With no other maintenance charges? If it is no charge my plan would be to take it to them for this and do the other checks myself.

Can the B class be used to jump start another car?

I will layout what I see as the differences. -eGolf Parks easier, Standard with all parking sensors etc -eGolf Handles Better -eGolf Departure charging works! -eGolf power steering is too light. Feels like an old american car...maybe this was their target given the VW push here. MB feels...

Can the B class be used to jump start another car?

Guys, I am an electrical engineer and worked in the auto industry for 15 years. No risk here. Just be sure the B-class is "ON" so it does not completely drain the 12 volt battery. The HV battery will recharge the 12V. There is an onboard charger the keeps the 12V battery charged from...
