There is one mechanic who does independent R& D work on this Ldu motor. According to his experience of repairing plenty of ldu, those with coolant delete had their bearing fail prematurely because of overheating . So instead of coolant delete, he advises to modify by adding two drainage...

    DIY battery repair and maintenance

Depends on the obd2 reader . Some of them also gives an explanation on the error code while the cheaper ones don't. You can see any high voltage wire are bright orange in colour. Normally if you disconnect the negative terminal of the 12volt battery, it will isolate the high voltage from...

    Repair in London

I wouldn't do this, I know lots of people do this ,commonly known as coolant delete. Buy there a few reports that the bearing get hotter ( can't remember which beating) . So the best way is to put a bearther valve on the hole behind the speed sensor and adding two drain holes , on on the...

You mean you can check the level of the coolant leak in the Drive unit . I am an retired electronic design engineer . There is one Youtuber in mainland Europe, who does lots of tesla ldu modification and repairs doesn't recommend the coolant delete, but does recommend the drainage hole and...

I believe there is a small amount of coolant leak from the bearing seal . The small amount may looks negligible but may reduced the insulation resistance of the drive unit . When the resistance is below a certain level, the high voltage control system which turns the drive motor, senses this...

DC/DC not charging 12v battery (Gateway Comm Issues?)

It could be that you are using the wrong cable. I had thin cable supplied by the previous owner . It didn't work on any dc/dc public charger. So I brought a very thick 3 phase cable type 2 cable. Had no problem with the new one whatsoever.

I am based near London, UK. I am an retired electronic design engineer. I had my B250e ( manufactured September 2015) since December 23 . I am using a icarsoft CR Ultra, to clear lots of stored faults carried forward from previous owners. The most positive action I have done is to change...

    My B-Class won't start

When you replace the 12 volt battery . You need to tell the cpu that you have replaced. You need use a diagnostic db2 scanner/ tool and tel the system of the new battery information like capacity, cca etc . You can't just replace the 12 v battery and forget it like the old school way.
