    Any delivery info?

I doubt it - Mercedes said that you shouldn't use the extended range option all the time, but if I recall, they didn't say how often was acceptable. Either way, seems like if you could leave it turned on it would violate their idea for ideal battery life

What color/options did you go for?

I've ordered a Mountain Grey with Black MB-Tex interior. I almost went for the premium package, but just opted for the range package and paddles.

    Any delivery info?

It will be interesting to see if the B-Class ED gets all sorts of extra range easily and regularly, similar to the Tesla powered Rav4 EV

TorqueNews review of the B-Class Electric Drive

TorqueNews starts the review by saying the B-Class Electric Drive will hit the US as the "chief competitor to the radically new BMW i3". Then it turns sour, covering the low range, extra weight of the large battery pack, and poor aerodynamics. Some interesting points, but overall fairly...

I'm planning to talk to my local dealership today and if everything goes well, I will be ordering a B-Class EV! Then I'll come back here and enter :)

B-Class Electric Drive launches in US today

Mercedes has announced the B-Class Electric Drive launches today in the US. Don't know if that means deliveries are now starting, or if it's just a press item, since the Electric Drives have been in the country at US ports for weeks already.

    Possible official EPA rating

The full 36kWh of battery is only used when the optional 'range package' is purchased, which allows 17 extra miles for a total of 104. 104 miles range for 36kWh vs 104 miles from 40kWh for the Rav4 seems to me like the B-Class is impressive. Am I missing something?

    Possible official EPA rating

A couple interesting points that were brought up on InsideEVs: 1. The Rav4 EV (also Tesla powered) has efficiency ratings of 76 MPGe combined (78 city/74 highway) and owners seem to be thrilled with it (mind you there are plenty of thrilled gas guzzler owners all over the place) 2. The EPA...

Car and Driver first drive review of the B-Class Electric

It's funny that EV makers want the vehicle to be different from the ICE version - which doesn't appeal to everyone. Yes, on the white it looks ok, but if it's a different blue then their 'blue' B-Class ED, then it would clash and is hopefully just an option. or a removable sticker-wrap color!

Car and Driver first drive review of the B-Class Electric

Overall, a pretty positive review for the B-Class Electric Drive.... plus it's a review from someone who has actually driven the vehicle!! I never noticed the blue accents on the mirror and grill before, looks nice.

    Monthly plug-in sales scorecard

Here's hoping the B-Class ED column gets a number for July!! http://insideevs.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/2014-sales-chart-Jun-vfinal-750x486.png

    First drive video

Yes, there are some discrepancies in the video, but overall a decent way to see the B-Class electric vehicle in motion! Also note the person in the video says the range is 122 miles, but that is on the old LA4 test metric, which works out to about 90-95 miles on the new EPA standard. Plus...

how big is the battery pack actually?

There seems to be conflicting reports - I thought the B-Class battery pack was 28 kWh? But now I saw something (and of course I can't find the site right now) that listed the battery pack at 36 kWh? Is that a different battery pack for the $600 'temporary range extender' option or what? Thanks!

    When US-wide available

We only know what Mercedes-Benz will tell us, and so far, this is still the story they are sticking to:

Leaked US dealer brochure shows US option packages

If it's simply a software change, then $800 seems too high, but if it is actually a larger battery pack, then $800 seems too low...

Have you guys seen this? I just stumbled across it - and now I am super curious about the cost on the range package!

    it's almost here!

Well, Mercedes has said the B-Class Electric Drive will be arriving in June or July of this year - and it's already June! That means we're virtually there! :D

    Ground clearance?

I don't think Mercedes has released that info yet - for the gasoline version, it's 190mm, but that could quickly change with the modified front fascia on the Electric Drive.
