    Range - Temperature

If you stay between 3.6v and 4.05 you can get 3000 cycles to 80% of original capacity. That will be a pack voltage of 370v (just above the normal charge cut off) to 330v. Maybe when I get our car I can log some actual values while I'm driving the range test to see where these numbers fall on the...

    Range - Temperature

Compare to a curve of an 8s 100Ah GBS LiFePO4 battery. The Panasonics seem as though they are not yet struggling even at the recommended charge cut off of 4.2v. Whereas there is no sense in pushing the Fe chemistry of the GBS beyond 3.4v per cell even though they are usually balanced at 3.6v or...

    Charge/ discharge graphs for the Panasonic NCR18650 cells reportedly used by Tesla in the MB electric B Class battery. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

    Range - Temperature

So if my info is correct regarding the 3696 number of cells, even at a conservative 4.0v charge cut off, and 2900 mAh, the MB battery multiplies out to 42.873 kWh. Exactly the same as the Toyota? At the 28 kWh cut off of the MB this is a very conservative 65%. Knowing this, it seems that regular...

    Range - Temperature

I wouldn't say rule out. I might hope for minimize. 0% on the dash might really mean 10% in the battery. 60%-40%-60% is the ideal range if you are only using 20 miles.

    Range - Temperature

With Lithium batteries, the further you stay away from the extreme end of the charge or discharge cycle the better. At either end you are yanking the ions out from one side of the electrode where they have been stuck and are the last ones to leave, and jamming them across into the other...

    Insurance cost?

It seems strange that a company as big as Progressive wouldn't know this car yet. They have been on the road in California since July.

    The Belly of the Beast

There is no spare but they are not run flats? How can that be? Is there a can of fix-a-flat?

    Range - Temperature

Can't you charge it up better? Constantly running around using the last 10% of the battery is bad for it.

    Insurance cost?

What are people paying for insurance for the B class electric? I called my company (Progressive) for a quote with the VIN but they had no info on this new car. They called me back the next day with a quote of $1,120/ year which is very reasonable but they said this was based on a guess according...

    The Belly of the Beast

Unfortunately, this lack of a spare is becoming a trend with MB. The CLA is supposed to be an entry car. Wait until these new conquests that are stretching to get into the car find out that a new set of run flat tires will cost $1,200 and only last 20,000 miles. And no one will plug a simple...

Nissan recently announced $5,500 with core for their battery which actually makes the Leaf viable to own rather than just lease.
