EVAccess to become widely available soon

As long as you have a login for Mercedes, you can get info from their servers. Available info and settings are state of charge, climate control, economy. iOS users will be limited to 2000, not sure about Google Play. Most of my experience has been with the JuiceBox dashboard, so I am not a...

    Suspension Upgrades?

It's not the run-flats. The standard B-Class weighs 1000 lbs less than ours. So the spring rates must be a lot higher than a normal B-Class. The dampeners (shocks) have to balance between a compliant ride and a quick dampening rate. Or something to that effect.

The i3: My One Day Test Drive

Here's another interesting tidbit. While the MB charges at about 10kW and the BMW is 7.6kW, the BMW actually slows down the charger when its near full. This must be a way to help save the battery life or something. BMW i3 charging MB BEV charging

The i3: My One Day Test Drive

The rear glass is a head scratcher. It's built from the ground up to be strong and light, but the entire back is made up of heavy and fragile glass. In the 2016 Miata, they drilled holes in the glass where you can't see, just to save nanograms of weight.

The i3: My One Day Test Drive

Just a quick Cliffs Notes on the benefits of an EV car. There is a term in the auto industry called NVH. That stands for Noise, Vibration, and Harshness. I don't know why Harshness is in there because the Noise and Vibration pretty much covers it, but these are from car engineers working in...

    EV Day San Diego 2015

Did anyone else attend their local EV Day today? I got to check out an i3 at ours. I'm very impressed with the technical capabilities and the entertainment/nav/info system. This might be my second car. Or maybe I'll wait for the less ugly version...

Drivers Side View Mirror - Too close

I just found this for my Mazda. I've been talking to a vendor regarding making a mirror for us. But unless there are 20 people to buy it, he won't make them. And I don't think there is enough interest on this forum. Here's what he said. Left Side in US/Canada is flat glass. We need and...

Drivers Side View Mirror - Too close

I just had a neck fusion, and now this lack of side view is even more of an issue. I've been searching for a drivers side mirror that is either convex, or one that eliminates the blind spot, but haven't been successful. Does anyone know of a vendor that might sell a blind spot side view mirror...

    B-Class Home Charge Station

You also have the option of installing a mechanical timer. This eliminates and software issues on the charger and the car. http://www.mybclasselectricdrive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=263

    Going solar?

I don't get the whole "zero down" thing. If you get a loan from the bank and pay them back $150 a month, isn't that also "zero down?" Anyway, I purchased and will have about $66k savings in 25 years, which is the expected life of the system.

Thank You B Class Forum - new owner's experiences

Oh, you're going to want your own 40 Amp charger. I charge mine between midnight and 6am, when its the cheapest. You might also want to consider going solar.

Well, I tested the Range today...Driving 72 miles each way

My consumption meter is always between 2 and 2.5 miles per kWh. Which puts me at (2.5miles x 28kWh) 70 miles per kWh. Even with that 1.2 correction factor, I'm only at 84 miles per kWh. Half that of a Rav4. Sucks.

Free charger - PEV Pilot Program

Not entirely. If you have the opportunity to add a relatively inexpensive timer, then the problem is solved. http://www.mybclasselectricdrive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=263
