Leaked US dealer brochure shows US option packages

Yes, and something a good majority of us here will have no use for. Bundling a heated windshield and more thermal insulation in with the range package was silly marketing IMHO... Make the button and code either a very cheap option or, more correctly, make it standard like on every other EV.

    Will Range Package come later?

Assuming that, as speculated, the range package allows you to charge to 100% rather than 80%, I would expect a range increase of around 15%, depending on how much it affects regen and on the specific driving conditions...

Leaked US dealer brochure shows US option packages

Yes, it was posted elsewhere on here a while back... $800 is the figure being bandied about (which I personally think is a ludicrous amount)...

    Order/Pre-order/Build date info thread

Agreed! A key is so 20th century and completely foreign to the concept of an EV. I saw it and wondered - hopefully - if it was simply a prototype thing... Even if it is not actually a key but a fob that you place in the hole, it is totally out of context with a modern, high-tech, vehicle! It...

    Order/Pre-order/Build date info thread

Considering it is basically just firmware and a push button, it IS something of a ripoff... The Range addition alone really should not be more than 100 bucks... For $800 it should also include QC capability. The lack of QC is the biggest strike against the MB in my opinion...

    Order/Pre-order/Build date info thread

There is actually very little real world difference. It is almost entirely just gamesmanship with the numbers...

Actually, I think you will find that there are more differences than you think...

    battery capacity

I suspect not. There simply isn't enough room in the B for that size pack... It is more likely a custom pack specifically for this purpose and does not have any hidden capacity as in the 40Kwh Tesla (which was actually a 60Kwh pack)...

    Order/Pre-order/Build date info thread

The four lease on my Leaf is up in early 2015. I want to test drive one first before I make the final decision, but if it lives up to my expectations, I will likely order one for delivery around that time... (I pre-ordered my Leaf nearly a year before delivery.) By then, I hope they will also...

    EPA numbers for B-Class ED?

It has to be soon because it can not be sold without the window stickers with the EPA numbers...

Pricing announced for the B-Class Electric Drive (in the USA

Considering that Mercedes is a very leasing-centric company it would be very surprising if they did not do the same with the B... Plus, with the exception of Tesla, every EV manufacturer has offered manufacturer backed leasing for a variety of reasons and I don't see MB bucking this.

Range Mode - what is it?

I assume you actually mean a lower coefficient of drag... Though CD in and of itself is not nearly as important as total drag which is frontal area times CD...

    Options and their pricing...

http://insideevs.com/breaking-mercedes-benz-b-class-electric-drive-gets-optional-range-package/ I do have to say that if it follows the standard Tesla (and Leaf) format, it will be more like 15%... The difference between 80% and 100% charge. The only way it could jump to 30% would be by...

2014 B-Class Electric Drive at the Geneva Motor Show

Yes, that, along with the logos on the side doors, has to go. I'm also not a big fan of the other blue accents such as the ones on the wheels. Just my personal opinion, and it may look better with some body colors than others...

Pricing announced for the B-Class Electric Drive (in the USA

It will get more interesting when we learn how MB is going to handle leasing and if they will play the same gimmicky game with the Federal tax credit that BMW (with the i3) and Toyota (with their PiP) did... So far, only Nissan has really got that part right.

Range Mode - what is it?

How odd that they made it optional. It is only a software change (charge to 100% [extended] rather than to 80% [standard]) so it really costs them nothing to add and yet it adds a significant marketing advantage in terms of range... Why not just make it a standard feature like all other Tesla...
